Watery Wednesday- Sukhothai Historical Park

This Wat Mahathat the largest temple of the 26 temples found at the Sukhothai Historical Park in North Thailand. The Sukhothai Historical Park covers the ruins of the Sukhothai Kingdom in the 13th and 14th century.

Sukhothai which literally means, ' The Dawn of Happiness' was the 1st capital of the Thai Empire for approximately 140 years. This place is indeed so rich in history and culture.

What a beautiful, peaceful place. I sure wish I had more time to travel, but pictures are a pleasing substitute until I do.
