Crowded Hat Yai
Oh, the city is just so crowded these days. There is traffic jam at the city center and lots and lots of people on the streets, restaurants and shops. Even the locals are wondering why the city center is so crowded. It’s not a holiday in Thailand nor there’s a local festival going on… BUT the city is just crowded with Malaysian and Singaporean tourists.
Yes, the Malaysian ( and Singaporean?) school holidays have started and that explains the crowd. It also seems that a lot of company tours ( from Malaysia) are taking place during this season.
As for us who don’t want the crowd, we would prefer to stay away from it and the chaos. So we’re trying to avoid the ‘touristy’ areas, go to ‘unknown’ places or maybe just stay at home.
