Whenever my family goes to a new place, we always make it a point to visit a museum. This is one way to get to know the history and culture of a place in brief. So, when we were in Chiang Mai, we had a difficult time choosing which Museum to go to since they have a number of museums in the city. So, we chose the Chiang Mai City Arts and Cultural Center since it’s just within the Old City Wall.
We were pleased to see an ongoing exhibition outside the museum. There we saw different tribal people showcasing their crafts and products. There were people doing the traditional weaving and a few were playing the local instruments. It was a beautiful experience. But since it started to drizzle, we hurried to go inside the building. Inside the museum, there were a lot of interactive and multimedia displays. The kids really had fun! And even though they were just randomly pressing the buttons and stuff, we’ve learned a lot about Chiang Mai’s history and culture.
So, if you’re in Chiang Mai, I suggest that you visit the Chiang Mai City Arts and Cultural Center. It’s really worth it, especially we got the Thai price for the entrance fee since Hubby has working visa and work permit.
