We were in Big C Extra last night when I saw ‘krathongs’ ( lotus-shaped receptacles that can float on water) made out of bread being sold at the bread section. It was only then that I was reminded that it’s almost the Loi Krathong festival. This is the time when the Thais go to the rivers or lake and let their krathongs float. It has been said that this is done to pay respect to the spirits of the water and the time to let go of all their grudges and anger.
For this year, Loi Krathong falls on the 28th of November. I better take note of this date, so as to avoid the heavy traffic.
