After the bombing that took place here in Hat Yai last March 31, 2012, security has been quite tight especially at the city center. Cars are now thoroughly checked with cameras, and uniformed military men while drivers license are being scanned before entering the parking areas. As for the customers, bags are being checked and some malls have body scanners too. It’s so tight and strict that it’s like those endpoint security .
Though these checks might be a hassle at times (especially if my bag’s too messy and I’m embarrassed to show the contents to the security guard) but a bit of discomfort is worth it if you know that this is for everyone’s security.
